Byun Yo-han Reveals Why He Married Girls' Generation's Tiffany Young

Actor Byun Yo-han is opening up about why he decided to marry singer Tiffany Young of Girls' Generation. In a new YouTube interview, he described her as the first partner who made him feel protected rather than the one doing the protecting.

The conversation aired on the YouTube channel "Choo Sung-hoon" in an episode posted on Sept. 3, titled "Yano Shiho, Tiffany Viewer Discretion Advised (ft. Look-alikes Byun Yo-han, Choo Sung-hoon)." Byun appeared as a guest and spoke with judoka-turned-television personality Choo Sung-hoon about a range of personal topics.

Catching up with Byun, Choo eventually brought up the actor's recent marriage. When Choo asked how long he had been married, Byun answered, "We got married in February. We dated for about a year and a half before the wedding."

Producers then asked what led him to propose. "This is the first time I've talked about it," Byun said. "I've always been in relationships where I was the one trying hard to protect the other person. But with her, I felt like she was the one protecting me, the one giving me courage."

He shared a specific story to explain the shift. "My health hadn't been good, so I hadn't traveled in about 10 years. I was afraid of flying," he said. "But she booked the best seats on the plane and told me, 'Trust me and come with me.' That's when I felt something new."

Byun registered his marriage to Tiffany Young in February. His film "Tazza: The Song of Beelzebub" opens on Sept. 23.
