Three K-entertainment couples have announced weddings in the span of about a week, giving the industry a run of celebrations heading into the second half of the year. Actor Jang Dong-yoon and Kim Seung-yoon led the wave on August 25, followed by actor Ji Ye-eun and dancer BATA on September 2, and actor Kwak Si-yang and Yoo Ji-ae on September 3.

The most recent announcement came from Kwak Si-yang and Yoo Ji-ae. On September 3, Kwak Si-yang's agency, 9ATO Entertainment, said the couple will hold their wedding in November.

Kwak Si-yang, born in 1987, and Yoo Ji-ae, born in 1993, are six years apart. The two have dated for about a year and plan to hold a small ceremony at a hotel in Yongsan district, Seoul, with immediate family and close friends.

The couple built their relationship privately while continuing their individual careers. They had never gone public about the romance, so the wedding announcement doubled as confirmation that they were together.

Kwak Si-yang began his acting career in 2014 with the film "Night Flight." His credits include "Oh My Ghost" and "Everything Will Be Alright" (Da Jalduel Geoya). He returns to television with KBS2's "Not You, But Another Romance" (Neo Malgo Dareun Yeonae), which premieres on the 12th. Yoo Ji-ae debuted the same year as a member of the group Lovelyz, promoting songs including "Ah-Choo" and "Now, We" (Jigeum, Uri). She later moved into acting with roles in projects such as "The Third Marriage."

A day earlier, on September 2, actor Ji Ye-eun and dancer BATA made their wedding official. The two plan to marry on December 12 at an undisclosed venue in Seoul. The date is also BATA's birthday.

Ji Ye-eun's agency, CP Entertainment, said in a statement, "The two have promised to share their lives based on deep trust. We ask for warm congratulations and support as they begin this new chapter."

By the time of the wedding, Ji Ye-eun and BATA will have dated for about a year. Their relationship was first reported in April, when both sides confirmed the romance, saying the two had known each other as colleagues before developing feelings and asking fans to support them warmly. The wedding news arrived roughly five months after they went public.

The run of announcements began on August 25 with actors Jang Dong-yoon and Kim Seung-yoon. Jang Dong-yoon's agency, BH Entertainment, said, "Jang Dong-yoon will quietly hold a wedding in October with only family members present."

Jang Dong-yoon, born in 1992, and Kim Seung-yoon, born in 1997, are five years apart. They first met in 2019 on the drama "Tale of Nokdu." Kim Seung-yoon later appeared in the short film "Be My Ears" (Nae Gwiga Doeeojwo), directed by Jang Dong-yoon, as well as his first feature as director, "Nuruk."

Kim Seung-yoon made her acting debut with "Tale of Nokdu" and has since worked steadily in independent film. Jang Dong-yoon has expanded from acting into directing, releasing the short film "Be My Ears" in 2023 and his first feature, "Nuruk," in April.

With Jang Dong-yoon and Kim Seung-yoon set for October, Kwak Si-yang and Yoo Ji-ae for November, and Ji Ye-eun and BATA for December, three ceremonies will roll out across the fall. The cluster of announcements has set a celebratory tone for the K-entertainment industry in the second half of the year.
