Actress Kim Ok-vin is expecting her first child. The 44-year-old confirmed the news on Instagram on Sept. 7, and told fans she plans to return to acting after a break for childcare.
"It's been a while since you've heard from me. The truth is, I've been preparing to become a mom," Kim wrote in the post. She said the baby's nickname is "ulu" and that the baby will be born in the Year of the Horse.
"It has been hard at times, but I'm cherishing this precious time happily and safely," she added. "Everything is new and surprising because it's all a first for me. I'm praying that ulu and I stay healthy through the rest of this time. When we meet safely, I'll share the news again."
In the photo she posted, Kim wears a black short-sleeved dress and looks into the camera in front of a railing, with a visible baby bump.
Fellow actress Oh Na-ra left a comment reading, "Congratulations, so much." Fans added messages such as "Our sister really became a mommy," "Congratulations," and "Please have the baby soon and show us." When one fan asked, "You're not retiring, right?"
