Choo Young-woo, Kim So-hyun Lead 'Between Steps', Ahn Pan-seok's Posthumous Work

The final drama from the late Korean director Ahn Pan-seok is heading to television this fall. ENA's new Monday-Tuesday series "Between Steps" premieres Oct. 5 at 10 p.m. KST, with additional streaming on KT's Genie TV and Disney+.

The network released the drama's first teaser video and a campus poster on Sept. 9, offering an early look at leads Park Min-jae, played by Choo Young-woo, and Im Yu-jin, played by Kim So-hyun.

"Between Steps" follows Park Min-jae, a doctoral student who was once a swimmer in high school before losing a leg to an illness, and Im Yu-jin, a master's student who has spent years uncertain about her future and is now starting over on a new path. The story centers on how the two, one with no dating experience and one just finding her footing, reshape each other's lives.

In the campus poster, the pair sit side by side eating ice cream. Both are smiling and looking in the same direction. The easy, quiet mood hints at the relationship that will unfold between them.

The first teaser opens with the two characters reflecting on their feelings for each other in voiceover. They exchange glances and small smiles, sharing playful, intimate moments as they spend time together.

"You're like the sun to me. You're hot," Park Min-jae tells Im Yu-jin. She answers, "Try swallowing it anyway."

"Between Steps" is the final project directed by Ahn Pan-seok, who died on Aug. 12. Over his career, Ahn built a distinct body of work with dramas including "Secret Love Affair" (2014), "Something in the Rain" (2018), "One Spring Night" (2019), and "The Midnight Romance in Hagwon" (2024).

The drama premieres Oct. 5 on ENA and will also stream on KT's Genie TV and Disney+.
