BLACKPINK's Jisoo Gets an Offer to Join Girls' Generation
Girls' Generation-HRS met BLACKPINK's Jisoo at a fashion event in New York, where Sooyoung playfully invited her junior to join the unit.
ELLE Korea shared a video of the encounter on its official social media account on Sept. 11, writing, "HyoRiSoo and Jisoo, a lovely combination." The clip shows Girls' Generation members Hyoyeon, Yuri and Sooyoung posing alongside Jisoo.
The four stars recently attended Tommy Hilfiger's Spring/Summer 2027 collection show in New York. After meeting at the venue, they stood together in front of the camera for a video.
During the shoot, Sooyoung pointed to Jisoo and said, "Why don't you join HyoRiSoo too?" Jisoo welcomed the suggestion, replying, "I like that."
Sooyoung later reposted the video on her own social media account and wrote, "Jisoo, would you like to be the youngest member of HyoRiSoo?" She added, "For the good of the group, I'm willing to give up the 'Soo' spot."
The unit's Korean name combines one syllable from each member's name: "Hyo" from Hyoyeon, "Ri" from Yuri and "Soo" from Sooyoung. Her comment was a joke about giving Jisoo the final syllable—and potentially her place in the lineup.
Girls' Generation-HRS grew out of the "Fake Kim Hyoyeon" series on Hyoyeon's YouTube channel, "Hyo's Level Up." The project followed Hyoyeon, Yuri and Sooyoung as they competed for positions including main vocalist and center before turning the concept into an actual unit.
The trio released its debut digital single "Skibidi" on Aug. 31. The track entered real-time and daily rankings on major Korean music streaming charts following its release.
