IU Shares Behind-the-Scenes Look at Music Video With Kim Young-ok, Na Moon-hee
Singer IU is showing just how much she looks up to two of South Korea's most beloved veteran actors. In a new behind-the-scenes video from her latest music video shoot, the singer went out of her way to welcome actors Kim Young-ok and Na Moon-hee to the set.
The video, titled "[IU TV] Crime: Crazy Soulmate," was posted on her official YouTube channel "이지금 [IU Official]." It captures the day IU filmed the music video for her new song alongside the two actors.
IU arrived in Gwangju, in the country's southwest, at 5 a.m. on the day of the shoot. Her first task was decorating the dressing rooms for Kim and Na. She blew up balloons herself and filled the space with keyrings featuring the actors' faces, framed photos, and small gold turtle figurines, a traditional symbol of longevity and good fortune in South Korea.
"I hope they will always be the beloved national actors who comfort the hearts of the people," IU said, describing her affection for the two.
At 7 a.m., she tried her first-ever "open run," the Korean term for arriving early to line up at a store for limited or popular items. Her target was Changeok-tteok, a rice cake that is one of Gwangju's local specialties. She picked up the treats without much trouble and looked pleased with herself, saying they would make a nice snack for the actors.
Kim and Na thanked IU for the thoughtful gestures, creating a warm, family-like atmosphere on set.
The video offers a small window into how younger K-POP artists show their respect for the older generation of Korean entertainers. In an industry often defined by tight schedules and packed promotion cycles, IU's early-morning trip to Gwangju reads as a quiet reminder that respect for elders still shapes the culture behind the scenes.
