PLAVE Breaks Virtual Idol Ceiling With First Stadium Tour Launch

Virtual K-POP group PLAVE is drawing wider public attention after a pair of stadium concerts that fans say made it easy to forget the members are animated at all. The group opened its first world tour last weekend and quickly climbed the charts tracking K-POP buzz at home and abroad.

According to the global K-pop analytics index K-POPIT BOARD on Wednesday, PLAVE ranked second in South Korea and fifth globally in the overall standings. The group's domestic power score, PWR(KR), came in at 68, while its momentum score, MOM(KR), which tracks the recent rise in buzz, hit 77. On the global side, PLAVE posted a PWR(GL) of 59 and a MOM(GL) of 66.

The most striking number was its VCR score, which measures whether social media buzz is translating into actual streams and video views. PLAVE hit a perfect 100 on that metric.

The surge traces back to the domestic stadium shows that launched the group's first world tour. On September 12 and 13, PLAVE opened "2026 PLAVE WORLD TOUR 'KEEP IT MANIC'" at the main stadium of Incheon Munhak Stadium. It is the first time a virtual idol group has headlined a large outdoor stadium as a solo act. The group had been steadily scaling up through earlier shows at Seoul's Gocheok Sky Dome.

Right after the concerts, fan-shot videos and reviews flooded social media and online communities. Over roughly three hours on stage, the staging was vivid enough to briefly make viewers forget they were watching a virtual group. Some fans posted reactions like "PLAVE really does exist," "the production was insane" and "you can tell they put so much thought into it." The members' live singing while dancing in real time, along with the varied arrangements, also drew praise.

The biggest talking point online was a surprise reveal during the encore. PLAVE performed an unreleased track, an EDM dance song built around a heavy beat and a sharp dance break. Fan clips of the moment spread quickly on YouTube and X, formerly Twitter, within hours of the show.

With the Korean stadium shows done, PLAVE now heads into the full global leg of the tour. The run starts in Kanagawa, Japan, then moves through Taiwan, major cities in Southeast Asia, Macau and on to Los Angeles.

Ahead of the tour, PLAVE also released a digital single, "Flame (feat. milet)," a collaboration with Japanese singer-songwriter milet.
