Actress Song Ji-hyo Takes a Break From YouTube: "I'll Be Back Stronger"

Actress Song Ji-hyo is taking a break from her personal YouTube channel about 10 months after launching it.

On Sept. 17, a video titled "To. Everyone Who Has Loved Jihyossong" went live on her channel, "Jihyossong." In it, Song cooked shabu-shabu on camera while chatting with subscribers. After finishing the dish, she stepped away to "bring in a guest," then returned and revealed that she was the guest of the day herself.

Over the meal, Song opened up about the channel. "I think today will be the last one," she said, before quickly correcting herself. "It's not the last one." She explained that she was taking some time to regroup.

"Please wait until I come back a little more solid and stronger," Song told viewers. When the production team looked disappointed, she comforted them instead. "It's not the end, so let's not cry." She kept the mood light, joking, "I'm just taking a short break to come back stronger and more complete. Is there even an ending on YouTube? Aren't you supposed to do it until you go to heaven?"

She was also candid about what the past 10 months had taught her. "It would be a lie to say I have no regrets," Song said. "I learned that good intentions alone aren't enough." She added that she wanted to return as a version of "Jihyossong" that could put its words into action, signaling plans for more polished content after a proper reset.

Song repeatedly stressed that the channel is not shutting down. "Please don't think of this as the end. I'll be back soon," she said. "If there's good news, I think I'll be able to share it through 'Jihyossong.'"

She closed with a message to fans. "I'm going to take a short break. It's not a full rest, it's a time to regroup. I'll make sure to come back. Until then, I hope only good things happen for you."

Song launched "Jihyossong" last October, sharing everyday moments and a range of content with subscribers.
