K-Pop Group 82MAJOR Tops 150K First-Week Sales With 'HEAT'

K-pop group 82MAJOR has landed its first music show win three years after debut, and the momentum is still building. The group's second single "HEAT" has crossed 150,000 copies in first-week sales and hit new career highs on domestic music charts.

82MAJOR, made up of Nam Sung-mo, Park Seok-jun, Yoon Ye-chan, Cho Sung-il, Hwang Sung-bin, and Kim Do-gyun, performed the title track "Like Fire" on MBC's "Show! Music Core" on the 19th.

The members took the stage in black jackets paired with denim pants. Combat boots and bandage details played up the rough mood of the new song.

The performance leaned into heavy synth sounds and sharp group choreography. The members held their vocals and rap steady through the fast movement, showing the live-performance strength the group is known for. Cool facial expressions and easy stage presence rounded out the set.

"HEAT" is built around the feeling of being pulled toward someone beyond your own control. The title track "Like Fire" picks up the story from the group's previous release "Sign" and captures the moment when that feeling grows too big to contain.

The current run has brought a string of career-best numbers. "HEAT" moved more than 150,000 copies in its first week, and the title track reached the group's highest position on the Melon HOT 100. It also hit No. 1 on the Bugs real-time chart.

The wins carried over to music shows. 82MAJOR took home its first trophy on "Show Champion" on the 9th, three years after debut. The group also landed on the nominee list for KBS's "Music Bank," widening its reach.

Next month, 82MAJOR will hold its sixth solo concert, "82CLUB : out of control," on the 24th and 25th at YES24 Live Hall in Seoul's Gwangjin district. Before that, the group performs "Like Fire" on SBS's "Inkigayo" on the 20th at 3:20 p.m. KST.
