Ahn Hyo-seop Plays a Genius Chef in New K-Drama 'Final Table'

Actors Ahn Hyo-seop and Hong Hwa-yeon will play a chef and his trainee in the upcoming JTBC drama "Final Table." The series premieres on Oct. 24 at 10:40 p.m. KST and will stream worldwide on Amazon Prime Video.

"Final Table" is set against a fictional cooking competition called "The Table: K Chef 2026," which aims to crown the best Korean chef in the world. The show follows Korean chefs who gather from across the globe to compete. It is one of the first major new projects from JTBC since the broadcaster recently entered a sale process.

Ahn Hyo-seop plays Kang Han, a genius chef with rare talent in the kitchen. Kang moves to a new restaurant every year and travels the world in the process. After signing with a well-known restaurant in New York, he stops by Familia, a restaurant tied to memories of his late father, before his new job begins. He ends up staying on as head chef and joins the cooking competition.

Hong Hwa-yeon plays Choi Song-i, the floor manager at Familia. Choi joins the competition to clear the name of her father, a chef who died after being wrongly disgraced. She has no kitchen experience but is quick with her hands. Under Kang's training, she grows into a capable sous-chef.

The two form a team with one shared goal: to save Familia. Kang takes on the role of mentor, Choi becomes his student, and together they prepare for the competition and face off against chefs from around the world.

Stills released ahead of the premiere show the pair from their first meeting through the early stages of their partnership. In one image, Kang returns to Familia after a long absence while Choi watches him from across the room. Another shows the two working side by side in the kitchen, with Kang teaching and Choi following his lead as she builds her skills. How their relationship develops throughout the competition is set to be one of the show's central storylines.

"Final Table" premieres Oct. 24 at 10:40 p.m. KST on JTBC and streams globally on Amazon Prime Video.
