ALLDAY PROJECT's Annie Appears on Her Mother's Department Store Screen
K-pop group All Day Project, which includes Annie, daughter of Shinsegae Inc. Chairwoman Chung Yoo-kyung, has had its new music video shown on the giant screen outside Shinsegae Department Store's flagship store in central Seoul.
All Day Project released its second EP, "CRASH," on Sept. 28, returning with new music after nine months. The title track of the same name is about moving forward without following set rules.
The "CRASH" music video began playing that day on Shinsegae Square, the media screen covering the exterior of the department store's flagship location in Myeongdong, Seoul. It was shown four times on its first day and is scheduled to run through Oct. 18. This is the first time an All Day Project video has appeared on the screen.
Unveiled in November 2024, Shinsegae Square covers an area roughly the size of three basketball courts. It has shown advertisements for luxury brands as well as videos by Korean and international artists. Shinsegae Department Store previously announced some artists' music video screenings through press releases, but this screening reportedly began without a separate announcement.
Before her debut, Annie spoke about her family's opposition to her plans to become a singer. She said her mother initially dismissed the idea, and when she raised it again more seriously a few years later, her mother firmly refused.
Annie said the opposition was strongest when she was in her second and third years of high school. "My mom told me that if I got into college, she would help me convince the rest of the family," she said. Annie was later accepted to Columbia University. She also said on Daesung's YouTube show "Jipdaeseong" that it took 10 years to gain permission to pursue a singing career and that admission to an Ivy League university was her mother's final condition.
Annie debuted with All Day Project in June 2025. The group released "FAMOUS" and "WICKED" as its debut tracks.
