UNIS' Gehlee Dangca Returns to the Philippines for Solo Career

Filipina singer Gehlee Dangca is returning home to begin the next chapter of her career following the end of K-POP girl group UNIS.

Dangca is set to arrive in the Philippines on Sept. 29, just three days after UNIS officially concluded activities on Sept. 26. The group had promoted under F&F Entertainment for roughly two and a half years following its formation through the SBS survival show "Universe Ticket."

With her UNIS activities now over, Dangca plans to focus on solo activities in the Philippines while continuing to pursue opportunities internationally. She is also expected to balance her entertainment career with her studies.

The 19-year-old will continue working with Universal Records Philippines as her recording label, while GLXY Talent Management and Star Horizon TV Production will handle her activities in the Philippines. The companies had supported Dangca before she moved to South Korea to pursue her K-POP career.

Dangca first gained wider attention as a contestant on "Universe Ticket" in 2023, where strong fan support helped secure her a place in UNIS. She officially debuted with the group in March 2024 with the EP "We UNIS."

During its run, UNIS released music including "Curious" and "SWICY" and developed a sizable international fan base, particularly in the Philippines.

Dangca's return marks a homecoming after nearly three years based in South Korea and the beginning of her career outside UNIS. Media appearances and other entertainment activities are expected in the Philippines, though no specific solo music release or project has been announced yet.
