Ahn Hyo-seop Returns as a Genius Chef in JTBC's 'Final Table' This October

Actors Ahn Hyo-seop and Chang Ryul are set to square off as rival chefs in the new JTBC drama "Final Table." The series premieres Oct. 24 at 10:40 p.m. KST on JTBC, with global streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

"Final Table" follows Korean chefs from around the world as they compete in "The Table: K-Chef 2026," a fictional cooking competition to crown the best Korean chef. The show centers on the tension between two very different chefs at the top of their field.

Ahn Hyo-seop plays Kang Han, the head chef of a restaurant called Familia. Kang is a prodigy with a sharp eye and a fast learning ability, and he has picked up cooking styles from countries around the world. Rather than settle in one kitchen, he signs a new contract with a different restaurant each year and blends techniques from many cuisines into dishes that feel like his own.

Chang Ryul plays Cha Woo-jin, the head chef of a Korean restaurant called Exception. Cha grew up as a cooking prodigy with the backing of the Pyeongyeon Group and trained at a top culinary school. He is a perfectionist who does not allow mistakes and builds precise, refined dishes through constant practice.

The two chefs differ in how they learned to cook, in personality, and in style. Kang takes a loose and free approach in his cooking. Cha holds tight to exact standards and formality. What they share is an obsession with sourcing the best ingredients and controlling every small detail of a finished plate.

Kang and Cha have met before. The two once competed at an international cooking contest overseas, where Kang finished first and Cha finished second. "The Table: K-Chef 2026" brings them face to face again.

In this round, the chefs will tackle the same theme in their own ways. One thing to watch is how Cha, who lost to Kang the first time, responds to their second matchup.
