KickFlip's First Double Title Tracks Take the Top Two Spots on Bugs

KickFlip's first double title track release has landed both songs at the top of Bugs' real-time chart.

The JYP Entertainment boy group released fifth mini album KICK OFF THE WALL Pt. 1 on October 6, led by "Puzzle Piece" and "Kick Off The Wall (Feat. iann dior)."

On the day of release, the two tracks reached No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, on Bugs' real-time chart, while every song from the mini album entered the chart.

The physical release also reached No. 1 on Hanteo Chart's real-time album chart and Circle Chart's real-time retail album chart.

"Puzzle Piece," which was pre-released with a music video on September 28, had surpassed approximately 14.2 million views on YouTube as of the morning of October 7.

The two title tracks approach the album's central idea from different directions. Leader Kyehoon, who participated in writing and composing "Puzzle Piece," said the song came from thinking about where the group currently stands.

"There are still so many things we don't know and so many things we have to build," he said. "Rather than having a complete answer, I wanted to honestly capture what we're thinking right now."

That uncertainty eventually led into the attitude behind "Kick Off The Wall."

Donghwa, who participated in writing the track, said its lyrics were created around the idea of breaking free from established boundaries and simply moving forward.

"The part 'I don't know about tomorrow, don't overthink it, just go' took a really long time to finish," he said. "I worked on the lyrics with the mindset of 'let's just go for it,' and it ended up becoming my favorite part."

All six members (Kyehoon, Donghwa, Juwang, Minje, Keiju and Donghyeon) are credited across the album's tracks. Moreover, KickFlip also marked release day with a comeback stage streamed through Mnet M2's YouTube channel, performing both new title tracks alongside songs from across their releases.

The set included "Knock Knock," "FREEZE," "My First Love Song," "Twenty" and new B-side "Waste It All With You," among others.
