KickFlip will return Oct. 6 with its new mini album, "KICK OFF THE WALL Pt. 1," about six months after the release of its fourth EP, "My First Kick," in April. The new album marks the group's first release to feature double title tracks, "Incomplete" and "Kick Off The Wall (Feat. iann dior)."

The eight-track album centers on the uncertainties and setbacks of youth, delivering the message that it is OK not to have all the answers and encouraging listeners to keep moving forward. The two title tracks form a connected narrative: "Incomplete," which member Kyehoon participated in creating, poses questions to oneself, while "Kick Off The Wall (Feat. iann dior)," co-written by Kyehoon and Donghwa, represents the answer they arrive at. All seven members participated in the credits across the album, which also features a collaboration with American artist iann dior.

The following is a Q&A with KickFlip regarding "KICK OFF THE WALL Pt. 1," as provided by JYP Entertainment.

Q. What story did you want to tell through "KICK OFF THE WALL Pt. 1"?

KickFlip: We wanted to break out of the boundaries and standards we'd set for ourselves. We also wanted to express through music the process of confronting our own worries and questions head-on. Along the way, we realized that rather than following a predetermined answer, facing things ourselves and finding our own answers felt the most like KickFlip.

Q. As you participated in writing and composing the album, were there any songs or parts where you especially wanted to capture your own stories and emotions?

Kyehoon: There's a line in "0 (Young)" that says, "If you and I stand next to the zero where there was no one, it becomes infinity." We wanted it to express our determination and belief that we can accomplish anything because we're together as a team.

Minje: While preparing this album, we talked a lot about how each member understood and wanted to express its overall message. Rather than simply focusing on making good songs, we kept thinking about how we could tell our story as we are right now. Since each member participated in the creative process, it was especially meaningful to listen to one another's ideas and make changes together.

Donghyeon: With "Rockin'," I really wanted to include the positive message that even if you stumble, you can get back up again. I hope it can give some encouragement to those who listen to it.

Q. These are your first double title tracks. What should listeners pay attention to in "Incomplete" and "Kick Off The Wall (Feat. iann dior)"?

KickFlip: If "Incomplete" is about the process of searching for an answer, "Kick Off The Wall (Feat. iann dior)" is about taking that answer and going for it. When you listen to the two songs together, they connect like one story. For "Incomplete," we'd like listeners to focus on the members' emotions and vocals, while the key points of "Kick Off The Wall (Feat. iann dior)" are KickFlip's energy and its powerful sound. It's such an exciting song that it makes you want to jump around with us, so we can't wait to show the performance.

Q. What did you learn from working with iann dior on "Kick Off The Wall"?

KickFlip: We were really grateful and excited to have iann dior bring his own musical style to the song. As we worked together, we were impressed by his approach to music and the creative process, and it reminded us that we should enjoy making music too. Talking and communicating with him on the music video set also gave us a lot of motivation. It was meaningful to see through this collaboration that KickFlip's music can be expressed in different ways.
