BOYNEXTDOOR Wraps Japan Tour With 140,000 Fans, Heads to North America
K-pop boy group BOYNEXTDOOR has wrapped up its Japan tour, which drew roughly 140,000 attendees, and is preparing to head to North America.
The six-member group, comprising Sungho, Riwoo, Jaehyun, Taesan, Leehan and Woonhak, concluded "BOYNEXTDOOR TOUR 'KNOCK ON Vol.2' IN JAPAN" on Oct. 11 at LaLa arena TOKYO-BAY in Chiba.
The tour featured 13 shows across six locations in Japan: Kanagawa, Saga, Osaka, Miyagi, Nagano and Chiba. The Osaka, Nagano and Chiba shows sold out.
Japanese singer-songwriter AiNA THE END, who collaborated with the group on a remix of "VIRAL," appeared as a guest at the Kanagawa stop. The Chiba finale opened with "06070," a song drawing on the members' own stories, followed by "VIRAL," "But Sometimes" and "I Feel Good." The setlist also included their Japanese releases "Count To Love," "Boom Boom Boom" and "SAY CHEESE!"
The stage design changed to suit each song, with a large LED tower displaying different visuals throughout the show. "Hollywood Action" featured a car prop, while "Live In Paris" used an airport-inspired set. During the encore, the group performed its new song "ANIMAL."
The members addressed the audience in Japanese, saying, "We're going to give you a fun time" and "You're missing out if you don't jump at our show." Fans responded with official fanchants and cheers.
"We feel proud that we were able to show how much we've grown since our last tour. Thank you for giving us such happy memories," the group said after the show. "We tried to show our best in all our activities and performances, and we hope our sincerity came through. We'll take the energy you've given us into the rest of the tour." The members also shared their ambition to perform at stadiums.
BOYNEXTDOOR will begin its North American tour on Oct. 30 in Dallas. The itinerary features 10 shows across 10 cities, including Chicago, New York, Toronto, Vancouver, Seattle and San Francisco.
In South Korea, the group is continuing promotions for "HOME: DELUXE," the repackaged edition of its first studio album. BOYNEXTDOOR will perform "Count To Love (Korean Ver.)" on music shows and appear on KBS Cool FM's "Hanhae's Kiss the Radio" on Oct. 16.
