KATSEYE's Sophia Extends Hiatus, Shares Emotional Message Ahead of 2027 Return

KATSEYE's Sophia will remain on hiatus for the rest of 2026, including the group's upcoming North American tour dates, with her return to group activities now scheduled for the first week of January 2027.

On October 9th, HYBE x Geffen Records announced through Weverse that Sophia would not participate in the North American leg of KATSEYE's "THE WILDWORLD TOUR" or any remaining promotional activities this year as she continues prioritizing her health and well-being.

The company emphasized that Sophia has been receiving its full support and resources during her break, adding that it looks forward to welcoming her back as KATSEYE begins its next chapter in 2027.

Following the announcement, Sophia shared a personal message with fans, known as EYEKONS, thanking them for their patience and understanding throughout her absence.

"It hasn't been easy," she wrote, explaining that she has been receiving care, learning how to better support herself and focusing on her overall well-being.

Sophia also reflected on the importance of recognizing her own needs rather than continuing to push herself through difficult circumstances.

"As much as I wish I could simply push through, I've come to understand that sometimes having the courage to take a step back is what allows you to move forward," she said.

While expressing sadness over missing the remainder of the tour, Sophia reassured fans that she intends to use the time to continue training and preparing for her return.

"My hope is to return feeling happier, healthier, stronger, more grounded, and ready to give you everything I've been wanting to give you," she added.

She also confirmed that she has remained in contact with her fellow members, asking fans to continue supporting the group during her absence.

With Sophia's return now planned for early January, KATSEYE will continue its remaining 2026 activities without her, while fans await the group's reunion in the new year.
