BLACKPINK's LISA Teases First Solo Album 'PRESS PLAY' With Hands-On LP Preview

BLACKPINK member LISA is taking promotion into her own hands. The singer is personally promoting her first solo album in a way that feels more like a fan unboxing than a label campaign.

On Oct. 11, LISA posted a short video to her Instagram Stories with the caption "Pre-Order Now!" In the clip, she shows off the physical LP edition of her first solo album, "PRESS PLAY," giving fans a closer look at its packaging in her own slow-motion style and mouthing "wow" at the camera.

She briefly showed a large poster included with the set and teased the LP without revealing every detail, holding back just enough to keep fans guessing. The approach taps into collector culture, where the thrill of the reveal is often as important as the music itself.

The album is set to be released on Oct. 23. The pre-release track "SaWaDiKa" was released on Sept. 4.

LISA, born in 1997, turns 29 this year. She debuted in August 2016 with BLACKPINK and launched her first solo activities in 2021. After founding her own agency, she made her overseas acting debut last year.

The hands-on rollout fits a wider shift in how top K-POP artists connect with fans. Rather than leaving every reveal to official channels, stars like LISA are increasingly taking on promotional roles themselves, turning a quick Instagram Story into part of the release itself.
