Actors Nam Ji-hyun and Kim Jae-young are reuniting on screen, this time as two people who could not be more different. The pair star in the upcoming TVING original series "Make Me Tremble," a romance that brings together a strict traditionalist against a free-spirited startup CEO.

On Wednesday, the "Make Me Tremble" team shared comments from both leads about their on-set chemistry and how they see their characters' relationship. The show follows Gong Yeon-su (Nam Ji-hyun), the eldest daughter of a traditional family with deep Confucian roots, and Dokgo Dal (Kim Jae-young), the CEO of a adult toy startup.

Asked to rate their acting chemistry, Nam Ji-hyun went beyond the top of the scale. "Out of 100, I'd give it 110," she said. She described Kim Jae-young as "someone who is thoughtful, kind, warm-hearted and sensitive by nature," and thanked him for creating a good atmosphere on set.

Kim Jae-young gave their chemistry a full 100. The role marks his second project with Nam Ji-hyun after the 2018 hit historical romance "100 Days My Prince." He called her "an actor whose skill is matched by the sincerity she brings to the work."

The two characters are polar opposites. Gong Yeon-su holds firm to her own rules and principles. Dokgo Dal is open-minded and says exactly what he thinks, without hesitation.

Nam Ji-hyun described the dynamic between them with the Korean onomatopoeia "udang-tang-tang sareureu," which roughly evokes a chaotic clash that gradually melts into something softer. "Gong Yeon-su and Dokgo Dal clash in so many ways," she said. "The heart of 'Make Me Tremble' is how they go from clashing so intensely to slowly melting into each other." She added that her focus was on showing how two people who see the world so differently gradually come to understand each other.

Kim Jae-young summed up the relationship as "understanding what makes you different." He said that as the two polar opposites spend time together, they begin to see why the other person thinks and acts the way they do, and that process pushes both of them in new directions.

"Make Me Tremble" premieres on Oct. 15, with the first four episodes released at the same time.
