IVE Fires the First Shot With "Looks Can Kill" Dance Challenge

IVE has given fans an early look at its upcoming single "Looks Can Kill," revealing a preview of the song and its choreography ahead of the October 19 release.

The group unexpectedly shared a dance challenge video on October 12 through its official TikTok, Instagram and YouTube channels, introducing the track's main hook and key dance moves.

The video features members An Yujin, Gaeul and Jang Wonyoung performing against the backdrop of IVE's previously introduced Hero Academy concept.

The choreography incorporates finger-gun gestures and extended arm movements, drawing on the superhero imagery that has shaped the group's latest comeback teasers.

The preview also offers a first listen to the song's chorus, including the lyrics "Looks can kill, we're so lethal," delivered over an upbeat electronic production.

"Looks Can Kill" opens with prominent synth sounds before introducing heavy bass, drums and electronic elements. The track centers on IVE's characteristic confidence, presenting the group as figures capable of commanding attention from the moment they appear.

Lyricists Seo Jieum and Lil Cherry worked on the song alongside IVE member Rei, who also contributed to the lyrics.

The release follows the group's earlier 'HERO TRAINING CENTER : HERO COMICS' video and 'Hero Comics' concept photos, which introduced the superhero-inspired setting for the comeback.

IVE previously revealed through its tracklist that members Gaeul, Rei and Liz had participated in the album's creative process, alongside other domestic and international contributors.

"Looks Can Kill" will be released as a pre-release title track on October 19, followed by IVE's mini album of the same name on October 26.
