Yoo Yeon-seok, Seo Hyun-jin Reunite After 10 Years in MBC Thriller 'The Perfect Lie'

Actors Yoo Yeon-seok and Seo Hyun-jin are reuniting on screen for the first time in a decade. In the new MBC drama "The Perfect Lie," they play two people telling very different stories of the same event.

"The Perfect Lie" is a psychological thriller about a man and a woman who remember the same incident in completely different ways. Yoo Yeon-seok stars as Min Jun-ho, and Seo Hyun-jin plays Kang Ji-seon. It is their first project together since the 2016 hit "Dr. Romantic."

The newly released poster shows the two leads staring into the camera from behind a pane of glass. Neither face gives much away, leaving viewers guessing about which character, if either, is telling the truth.

The taglines ad another layer of tension. Yoo Yeon-seok's poster reads "Jun-ho, the man who states the facts." Seo Hyun-jin's reads "Ji-seon, the woman who insists on the truth." The two statements sound almost identical, but the small distinction between "facts" and "truth" hints at the central conflict of the series.

A blurred image of the couple's first date also appears on the poster. The show will explore what happened between that seemingly perfect first meeting and the confrontation that follows.

For both actors, the pairing marks a shift. After working together as colleagues in "Dr. Romantic," they now face off as two people who refuse to back down from their own version of what actually happened.

"The Perfect Lie" premieres on Oct. 30 at 9:50 p.m. KST on MBC.
