NewJeans Is on Pause, the Plays Keep Coming: 8.2 Billion on Spotify

K-pop group NewJeans has earned another Spotify milestone during its hiatus, with "Cool With You" becoming its 11th song to surpass 300 million streams.

According to Spotify on Oct. 14, the track had accumulated 300,107,778 streams as of Oct. 12.

"Cool With You" is one of the three title tracks from the group's second EP, "Get Up," released in July 2023. The song combines UK garage rhythms with the members' restrained vocals. It entered the Billboard Hot 100 on the chart dated Aug. 5, 2023, and was named one of the year's best songs by British magazine Time Out.

NewJeans' catalog has now surpassed 8.2 billion streams on Spotify. "Ditto," "OMG" and "Super Shy" have each exceeded 900 million streams, while "Hype Boy" has topped 800 million. "New Jeans" and "Attention" have each passed 500 million, and "ETA" has surpassed 400 million.

"Cool With You" joins "Cookie," "How Sweet" and "Hurt" among the group's songs with more than 300 million streams. "Supernatural" and "ASAP" have each passed 200 million, while "Get Up," "Bubble Gum" and "Right Now" have each exceeded 100 million.

NewJeans' group activities remain on hold following a contract dispute with its agency, ADOR. Haerin, Hyein and Hanni decided to return to the agency last year, while Minji has held discussions with the company about her future activities. ADOR notified Danielle in December that it was terminating her exclusive contract, and the two sides remain in litigation.

In July, ADOR released a video and photos featuring Minji, Hanni, Haerin and Hyein on the group's official channels to mark its fourth anniversary. At the time, the agency said it would announce specific activity plans once discussions with the members were complete. No comeback schedule has since been announced.
