Yoo Yeon-seok, Seo Hyun-jin Face Off in New 'The Perfect Lie' Teaser for MBC Thriller
MBC's upcoming psychological thriller "The Perfect Lie" is leaning hard into mystery with its latest teaser, pitting its two leads against each other over conflicting memories of the same night.
The production team behind "The Perfect Lie" released the main teaser on Oct. 15. The drama follows a man and a woman who tell opposing stories about the same event, and the fight to uncover what really happened between them.
The clip opens on the first date between Min Jun-ho, played by Yoo Yeon-seok, and Kang Ji-sun, played by Seo Hyun-jin. The two share a quiet attraction and cautious physical closeness. The mood shifts when Kang's voiceover cuts in: "You never know what's coming next in life."
From there, the couple begin telling very different versions of what happened. The tension builds with the arrival of police officer Lee Hwa-young, played by Ok Ja-yeon, whose investigation further widens the gap between their verisons of events.
As the situation grows more tangled, Min and Kang find themselves unable to trust even the people closest to them. The teaser also introduces Kang Ji-eun, played by Kim Ji-hyun, Kim Hyung-soo, played by Lee Chun-hee, and Park Jung-hyun, played by Oh Dong-min. How these characters influence the conflict between the couple becomes another point of intrigue.
The latter half of the teaser shifts into motion. Min and Kang are seen running before collapsing, as their stories keep splitting apart. The clip ends without revealing what actually happened on their first date.
Running about 40 seconds long, the main teaser pushes the central conflict further than the first two teasers did. It traces how a first meeting gives away to suspicion and brings the supporting cast into clearer view.
"The Perfect Lie" premieres on Oct. 30 at 9:50 p.m. KST. A lead-in special, "The Perfect Lie," airs earlier Oct. 15 at 11:50 p.m. KST on MBC.
