BABYMONSTER Returns With Vocal-Driven Pop Ballad 'DESERVE'

K-pop group BABYMONSTER is coming back with a pop ballad built around its vocals. The group will release its new digital single, "DESERVE," on the 23rd at 1 p.m. KST.

The single marks a change in direction. Earlier this year, BABYMONSTER put its stage performance front and center. This time, the focus is on singing.

"DESERVE" is a pop ballad with synthesizer melodies and a retro feel. That sets it apart from the group's past work, which leaned on hard-hitting hip-hop and fast dance tracks. The song builds its emotion layer by layer from the opening. Then it opens up with high notes in the chorus and bridge.

A poster released on the 22nd through the official blog set a tense mood. Car headlights and rising flames fill the background. The members show a more grown-up look, which has fans curious about the story the full music video will tell.

The new single will be BABYMONSTER's fifth music release this year. The group also plans to put out a new album early next year.

It is releasing the single while on the road. BABYMONSTER is in the middle of its second world tour, "2026-27 BABYMONSTER WORLD TOUR 'CHOOM'." Choom is the Korean word for "dance." The tour covers 31 shows in 18 cities across five continents.

For a group that made its name on dance tracks, "DESERVE" is a chance to show a different side. And with a tour still running and an album on the way, it won't be the last chance fans get this year and next.
