ILLIT's 'Magnetic' Hits 900 Million Spotify Streams in Record Time
ILLIT's debut song "Magnetic" has surpassed 900 million streams on Spotify, becoming the fastest debut track by a K-POP group to reach the milestone.
According to Spotify data released Oct. 20, the song had accumulated 900.35 million streams as of Oct. 18, approximately two years and seven months after its release.
Released in March 2024 as the title track of ILLIT's debut EP, "SUPER REAL ME," "Magnetic" combines pluggnb and house influences with a catchy chorus and finger-focused choreography that sparked a global dance challenge.
The song also made history as the first K-POP debut track to enter both the Billboard Hot 100 and the UK's Official Singles Chart.
Its popularity has continued internationally. "Magnetic" earned Silver certification from the British Phonographic Industry on Oct. 2, while the Recording Industry Association of Japan awarded it Triple Platinum streaming certification in August after surpassing 300 million streams.
The milestone comes ahead of ILLIT's fifth EP, "BREAK EVEN," arriving Oct. 26.
The group recently debuted the album's title track, "I'll Arrest You," during its encore concerts in Incheon on Oct. 17 and 18, introducing a whistle-driven performance ahead of the comeback.
