TXT Faces Harsh Realities of Youth, Sings of Growing Pains

K-pop boy group TOMORROW X TOGETHER is turning its next album toward the real-life struggles of people in their 20s. The group will release its ninth EP, "PERFECT STORM," on Nov. 16.

The album explores the feelings of young people who feel trapped in repetitive routines and long for change. It focuses on the anxiety and pressure facing Gen Z as they move beyond adolescence and confront the demands of adult life.

TOMORROW X TOGETHER, consisting of Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Huening Kai, has built a coming-of-age narrative through album series including "The Dream Chapter," "The Chaos Chapter," "The Name Chapter," "The Star Chapter," and "minisode." Those releases followed a boy's journey from chasing dreams to confronting confusion and uncertainty.

The new EP shifts the focus to people in their early to mid-20s, around the same age as the members. Rather than the dreams and struggles of adolescence, the group now explores the pressures of everyday life and anxiety about the future.

That direction is reflected in the album's concept trailer, released on the official HYBE LABELS YouTube channel on Oct. 19 at 9 p.m. KST. The video shows the five members preparing for an approaching storm, each responding to the uncertainty in a different way.

Soobin steps into a lake before strong winds begin to blow, while Yeonjun struggles against centrifugal force inside a spinning cylinder. Beomgyu anxiously pulls loose threads from his clothes, reflecting a sense of unease.

Huening Kai monitors and records signs of changing weather in a room filled with screens, while Taehyun stands in the pouring rain without seeking shelter.

Each member prepares to face the storm in a different setting. Together, the scenes convey the album's central theme of young people longing for change amid an uncertain reality.

"PERFECT STORM" will be released on Nov. 16 at 6 p.m. KST on major music streaming platforms. The album marks a shift from the group's earlier stories of boyhood toward the more immediate concerns of young adulthood.
