Park Min-young, YOOK SUNGJAE Romance 'Nine to Six' Sets Nov. 25 Premiere
Park Min-young and YOOK SUNGJAE are heading to the office for a new romance. Their SBS drama "Nine to Six" (Nain Tu Sikseu) premieres Nov. 25 at 9 p.m. KST.
The show's production team announced the premiere date on Oct. 21 and unveiled the first look at the cast's script reading. Park Min-young, YOOK SUNGJAE, Go Soo and Joo Hyun-young were among the main cast members who gathered to read their lines together for the first time.
The series follows a rational woman and a kindhearted man who meet and try to balance between their careers and their love lives. It is set at a company called Kronic Motors and it looks at the professional and romantic lives of office workers.
Park plays Kang Yi-ji, who is cool-headed at work but awkward when it comes to dating. Kang puts logic first and approaches her work with meticulous precision. At the script reading, Park showed that side of the character with a firm delivery and serious expressions.
YOOK SUNGJAE plays Han Sun-woo, a warmhearted younger man. Unlike Kang, Han is warm and thoughtful toward the people around him. YOOK SUNGJAE brought out Han's bright personality while exchanging lines with Park. The connection between these two very different people end up connecting is the core of the story.
Go Soo is back in the romance genre for the first time in 15 years. He plays Park Hyun-tae, an elite division head who judges employees on their skills and nothing else. At the script reading, he brought the character to life with a relaxed attitude and a calm delivery.
Joo plays Shin Ji-won, Kang's close younger friend, who has been a full-time homemaker for seven years. Shin deals with everyday concerns and occasionally offers dating advice to Kang. Joo played the role with her trademark cheeky, deadpan style.
The cast also includes Kim Mi-kyung, Nam Yoon-ho, Choi Ji-soo, Chun Woo-jin, Jung Hae-kyun, Jo Bok-rae, Cha Chung-hwa and Bae Yoo-ram.
Kim plays Lee Kyung-sim, the mother of Park's character. The two actresses have played mother and daughter in several earlier projects, and this office romance gives viewers one more chance to see their on-screen mother-daughter chemistry.
