WayV's XIAOJUN Shines Solo in Shanghai With "Hey, Somebody"

Group WayV member XIAOJUN marked his solo debut by meeting fans in Shanghai. He held a showcase on Oct. 26 at PHASE LIVE HOUSE SHANGHAI to celebrate the release of his first EP, "Hey, Somebody."

At the event, he performed the title track, "Hey, Somebody," live for the first time. The showcase also marked the start of his solo promotions.

XIAOJUN performed the title track along with the album tracks "Sky High," "时光情书 (To Us)," and "我眼中的你 (Wave)." The title track featured musical-style choreography and bright, upbeat energy. On the other songs, he showed a more emotional side of his vocals.

Between performances, he spent time talking with fans. He shared stories about the album and its songs and took part in a game segment. To close the showcase, he expressed his feelings to fans through a letter he had written himself.

The album also made its mark on international music charts. It reached No. 1 on China's QQ Music Trend Peak chart and entered the Top 10 on the iTunes Top Albums chart in 10 regions, including Japan, Taiwan and Mexico.

"Hey, Somebody" was released on Oct. 26. The EP contains five tracks, including Chinese and English versions of the title song. The title track is a mid-tempo song about someone who once saw themselves as nothing special. Over the course of the song, that person begins choosing their own path and discovers their own worth.

XIAOJUN will release a "Suit Dance" performance video for "Hey, Somebody" on the 1theK Originals YouTube channel at 7 p.m. KST on Oct. 27. He is also scheduled to appear on Korean TV music shows next week.
