"She Looks Like a New ILLIT Member": IU Wows Fans With Youthful Looks

Singer and actress IU teamed up with Wonhee of K-POP girl group ILLIT for a new dance challenge, drawing attention for her youthful appearance.

The video was posted on ILLIT's official social media accounts on Oct. 27. In it, IU and Wonhee perform the dance challenge for "You're Under Arrest" (Chepohagesseo), the group's new song.

IU wore a light blue striped top, loose-fitting pants and sneakers. With her long, straight hair down, she stood next to Wonhee and performed the song's signature moves.

She followed the choreography with ease, from blowing a whistle to forming a gun shape with her fingers. IU has said in the past that she isn't confident in her dancing. In this video, however, she appeared more relaxed and kept up with Wonhee. The two wrapped up the challenge by making hearts with their hands.

The pair's appearance side by side also drew attention. IU had a fresh, youthful look that complemented Wonhee's. Their similar styling and expressions made them look as though they could belong to the same group.

Born in 1993, IU is 33, while Wonhee, born in 2007, is 19. Despite their 14-year age difference, they looked closer in age on screen.

Online, viewers were quick to comment on IU's youthful appearance. "I thought she was a rookie idol who looked like IU," one wrote. "She looks so young I thought she was a new ILLIT member," another said.

Others joked, "Isn't she basically a fifth-generation idol?" and "She could join ILLIT."

Fans also welcomed the unexpected pairing. "IU doing a dance challenge is such a rare treat," one wrote. Another described it as "the nation's little sister meeting the nation's little sister," referring to the affectionate Korean nickname associated with IU and young female stars.

One viewer made a playful reference to ILLIT's new song, commenting, "They're both so cute I want to arrest them."

ILLIT released its fifth EP, "BREAK EVEN," on Oct. 26 and is currently promoting its title track, "You're Under Arrest."

IU recently featured on singer Crush's single "seesaw" and starred in its music video.
