Former BIGBANG Member Seungri Reportedly Married, Expecting Son in January

Former BIGBANG member Seungri, 36, has reportedly tied the knot and is expecting his first child in January next year.

According to local media reports on Oct. 28, Seungri has already registered his marriage to a non-celebrity woman in her 20s. The couple is expecting a baby boy and has reportedly moved into a home in Seoul's Gangnam district.

Seungri is said to have no plans to hold a wedding ceremony for now, instead focusing on his wife's pregnancy and preparations for the birth.

News of the pregnancy first surfaced on Oct. 27 through local media reports, which was investigating a separate assault complaint involving Seungri. During an interview about the case, he reportedly said he had a family to protect. The outlet said it later learned that his partner was pregnant.

Seungri was recently accused of assaulting and threatening another customer during an altercation at a restaurant in Gangnam in August.

His lawyer confirmed that Seungri had picked up a soju bottle during the dispute but denied that he swung it or struck anyone. His legal team also denied allegations that he threatened the other party with ties to organized crime.

Seungri debuted as a member of BIGBANG in 2006 but left the group and retired from the entertainment industry in 2019 following the Burning Sun scandal.

He was later sentenced to 18 months in prison on nine charges, including prostitution mediation and habitual gambling. He was released in February 2023 after serving his sentence.
