TXT Scores Double Spotify Milestone With "CROWN" and "Opening Sequence"
TOMORROW X TOGETHER has reached two new Spotify streaming milestones, with debut single "CROWN" surpassing 200 million plays and 2022 B-side "Opening Sequence" exceeding 100 million.
According to Spotify figures cited by the group's agency, both songs had crossed their respective milestones as of October 27.
Released in March 2019 as the title track of TXT's debut EP, "The Dream Chapter: STAR," "CROWN" introduced the group's early musical identity through an upbeat synth-pop sound.
The song compares the confusion and growing pains of adolescence to suddenly developing horns, following a boy who finds comfort after meeting someone who shares his experience.
"CROWN" also reached No. 1 on Billboard's World Digital Song Sales chart dated March 16, 2019.
Meanwhile, "Opening Sequence" appeared on TXT's fourth mini album, "minisode 2: Thursday's Child," released in May 2022.
The track explores the pain of a first breakup through the imagery of a film's opening scene, with memories of a past relationship repeatedly playing back like a movie. Members Taehyun and Huening Kai contributed to the lyrics. The song reached No. 15 on Billboard's World Digital Song Sales chart dated May 21, 2022.
The latest milestones add to TXT's growing catalog of songs with more than 100 million Spotify streams.
"0X1=LOVESONG (I Know I Love You)" featuring Seori has surpassed 300 million plays, while "LO$ER=LO♡ER," "Blue Hour," "Sugar Rush Ride," "Deja Vu" and "Run Away" have each exceeded 200 million.
The achievements come as TXT prepares to release its ninth mini album, "PERFECT STORM," on November 16.
The upcoming six-track project explores the challenges of growing up and confronting reality, with title track "Angel Bite" focusing on the desire to remain beside someone despite life's difficulties.
"PERFECT STORM" has already surpassed 300,000 Spotify pre-saves and ranked No. 1 on the platform's Top 10 Countdown chart for four consecutive days from October 26 to 29.
According to the group's agency, the album's first-day pre-save count was approximately 3.5 times that of its predecessor.
