TXT Teases 'Angel Bite' Ahead of 'PERFECT STORM' Release

K-pop group TOMORROW X TOGETHER has given fans a surprise first listen to its new single. On the 1st, the five-member group (Soobin, YEONJUN, BEOMGYU, TAEHYUN and HUENINGKAI) posted a video of about 10 seconds on its official social media accounts.

The clip previews "Angel Bite," the title track from the group's ninth EP, "PERFECT STORM."

It opens on a familiar smiley-face emoji. Then a tear rolls down from one of its eyes. Over a wistful melody, a strong voice cuts through with the line "That angel bite." The gap between the bright image and the darker mood behind it sticks with you, even in a few seconds.

"Angel Bite" is a Discoplug track. It pairs an upbeat beat that sounds like video game music with a melody that is rough and wistful at the same time. The song packs raw, desperate feelings into its high energy.

According to the group's agency, BIGHIT MUSIC, the song is a "TXT-style love song." It is about wanting to be with "you," even through a rough and imperfect youth. The lyrics face real-life pain and the feeling of being left behind with a self-mocking edge, but they refuse to let go of the one person who matters.

TXT will release "PERFECT STORM" on the 16th at 6 p.m. KST and start promotions after that.

Fans around the world are already lining up. The EP held No. 1 for a full week on Spotify's "Top 10 Countdown," a chart that tracks pre-saves on the global streaming platform. The run lasted from the 26th of last month through the 1st.

For TXT, that streak says a lot. Its global fan base is invested before the full song is even out.
