ATEEZ Reportedly First K-POP Idols to Perform at Deoksugung Palace
K-POP boy group ATEEZ is set to reveal a special performance it staged at Deoksugung Palace in Seoul. The group is reportedly the first K-pop idol act to perform there.
ATEEZ will appear on KBS2's "Immortal Songs" on the 31st. The group will perform "BAD," a song that has drawn attention recently, and its new track "Drip."
The broadcast is episode 778 of the show. It is the second part of a special tied to the 2026 Royal Culture Festival, a festival built around Korea's royal palace culture. The special features a concert held at the plaza in front of Heungnyemun Gate at Gyeongbokgung Palace, which marked the opening of the festival's fall edition. "Immortal Songs" has aired more than 700 episodes, and for this special it brought together singers from a wide range of genres.
Part 1 aired on the 24th. Its lineup included HONEY J, xikers, BTOB's Seo Eunkwang and Lee Minhyuk, Park Ji-hyeon, Heo Yong-byeol, Song Ga-in, LA POEM and Kim Young-im.
Part 2 brings Kim Chang-wan Band, Lyn, Lee Seung-gi, BOYNEXTDOOR, NMIXX and ATEEZ to the stage. Park Ji-hyeon, who appeared in Part 1, returns for another performance.
Part 1 ran under the theme "The Palace Awakens Art." It focused on the palace, *heung* (a Korean word for joyful energy), sound and spirit. Part 2 centers on style, light and art.
Other K-pop acts will take the stage too. NMIXX performs "Blue Valentine" and "Heavy Serenade." A fan-cam video of the group's stage, released before the broadcast, has already passed 3.9 million views. BOYNEXTDOOR prepared three songs: "Ttokttokttok," "Animal" and "ADIOS!"
Lee Seung-gi sings "Da Jul Geoya," "Itjima, Gieokae, Neutjima" and "Gyeolhonhaejullae." Lyn chose "Siganeul Geoseulleo" and "Dongbaek Agassi."
Park Ji-hyeon performs a medley that opens with Na Hoon-a's "Salm" and moves through "Monnan Nom," "Sseurirang" and "Mangbuseok." Kim Chang-wan Band plays signature songs including "Neoui Uimi," "Hoesang" and "Saranghae."
The special also includes collaboration stages. In Part 1, traditional Korean master singer Kim Young-im joined the crossover group LA POEM for "Arirang" and "Hand in Hand." In Part 2, Lee Seung-gi and Lyn team up on "Doedollida." At the Heungnyemun Gate plaza, the concert also used media facade projections, with video displayed on the surrounding structures.
