'Love in Disguise': Im Si-wan, Seol In-ah Share a Second Kiss
Im Si-wan and Seol In-ah shared a second kiss on "Love in Disguise" (Naui Yujoe Ingan), and this time nobody was drunk. In the fifth episode of the tvN Monday-Tuesday drama, which aired on Nov. 2, Yoon Yi-jun (played by Im Si-wan) finally faced his feelings for Kang Jae-hee (Seol In-ah) and kissed her first.
The episode drew an average nationwide rating of 5 percent and a peak of 6.2 percent, according to Nielsen Korea's paid-platform data. It posted the same average and peak in the Seoul metropolitan area. That kept the show at No. 1 in its time slot among cable and general programming channels for the fifth episode in a row.
Among viewers ages 20 to 49, tvN's key target audience, the drama ranked No. 1 in its time slot across all channels. That includes the major broadcast networks, both nationwide and in the Seoul metropolitan area.
Earlier in the series, Yoon kissed Kang while drunk. He has been confused about his feelings ever since. Even small, casual contact with Kang made his heart race. Kang, however, did not remember the kiss at all. For Yoon, it was big enough to keep him up at night. For Kang, it was as if nothing had happened.
Yoon started acting touchy around her on purpose and let his annoyance show. His feelings kept growing, but he could not admit them. He just kept his feelings to himself.
Then Yoon's fiancée, Lee Si-a (Choi Hee-jin), showed up at his house without warning. She greeted Kang with a kiss on the cheek and made her interest in Kang obvious. Yoon had introduced Kang as his male personal aide. Lee still asked, without any hesitation, whether the two were flirting or dating. Yoon was caught off guard.
Kang, meanwhile, put her complicated situation with Yoon aside and focused on a murder case. She and her teammates on the mobile detective unit learned that Kim Si-hyun (Kim Jung-hyun), a lawyer on Taegang Group's legal team, had secretly met with Yoon Na-jung (Park Ah-in), Yoon's second-oldest sister.
The case took a new turn when the team found signs that Kim Si-hyun was also looking for a second phone belonging to the victim, Han Eun-young (Jung Yoo-min). Kang and her team decided the phone was their top priority.
Jung Wan-gu (Kim Ki-bang) was working undercover as a cleaner at Taegang Group. He found out that Han's desk had been replaced right after her death. Kang started searching, thinking the phone might still be inside the old desk.
There was a problem. The storage room where the old desk was likely kept was locked with a passcode. So Kang broke her own desk on purpose and asked for a new one. When the storage room full of broken desks was opened, Jung made sure the door would not lock behind Kang, giving her a way in.
Working together, the two found the second phone in Han's old desk. Kang quickly called Kim Seok-jin (Nam Hae-joon), a lieutenant with the unit, and handed it over. The team was now one step closer to the truth.
Then came the twist. Near the company, Yoon spotted Kang meeting Kim Seok-jin in secret.
Yoon was already struggling with his feelings for Kang. Seeing her with another man, he couldn't hide his jealousy. He went to her, finally gave in to his feelings, and kissed her first.
This time, he was sober. The kiss also brought back Kang's memory of their first one. Five episodes into the drama, its slow-burn romance has turned into an open question for both leads, and for viewers too: what comes next now that neither of them can pretend?
