Tiffany Young and MIYEON Stage a Puppy Rescue in 'Lips Together'
Singer Tiffany Young has released a new music video with MIYEON of the K-pop girl group i-dle. The video for "Lips Together," one of two title tracks from her first full-length solo album, "Edge Of Calm," came out on the 3rd.
The song first appeared on the album, which was released in August. MIYEON is featured on the track and also appears in the video.
The story follows the two singers as they sneak into a man's house to rescue a dog he is holding. Once inside, they hide in a bathroom stall to avoid getting caught. They also dance their way through the rooms, try on clothes and collect different items around the house.
At one point, they read each other's fortunes with tarot cards. A chase breaks out inside the house, and the pair work together to get the dog out. The video is built around two characters with very different personalities who share the same goal.
"Lips Together" is about wanting to heal a hurt heart through love. The track pairs the two singers' voices over an upbeat rhythm, with each leaning on her own vocal tone to set the mood. The video adds the dog rescue storyline on top of that sound.
"Edge Of Calm" explores the tension right before reaching a sense of calm, along with emotional change and balance. Along with the title track of the same name, "Edge Of Calm," and "Lips Together," the album includes "Codes," "Drip Drop," "Halfway Honest," "Moment" and "Lovers," which features JUNNY.
It also carries the pre-release single "Summer's Not Over" in both its original and Korean versions, plus "Moonlit Rain." Across the record, Tiffany Young moves through a range of genres.
The singer recently wrapped her "Edge of Calm Tour," which stopped in six cities across Asia. Alongside her solo music, she has also been performing on the musical theater stage.
For an album that has already been out since August and taken on the road, the new video is a reminder that a solo release can keep finding new life well after its first week.
