Park Min-young Puts Work Before Love in SBS Drama 'Nine to Six'
Actress Park Min-young takes on the role of a career-driven woman who puts work before romance in the upcoming drama "Nine to Six." In a new teaser, actor Yook Sungjae appears as a younger man who isn't shy about showing his interest in her, setting the stage for a romance filled with growing tension.
The team behind the SBS series released its second teaser on Nov. 5. "Nine to Six" is a romance about a woman who has spent her life proving herself through hard work. Her views on work and love start to change after she meets a kind, emotionally expressive man.
The teaser shows three very different attitudes toward romance. The characters are Kang Yi-ji (played by Park Min-young), Han Sun-woo (Yook Sungjae) and Park Hyun-tae (Go Soo).
Kang shows no interest in a lavish bouquet of roses or a diamond ring. Instead, she remains focused on her career, rarely allowing herself to open up to romance.
That changes when Han, an intern, enters her life. Kang draws a line, telling him, "Spending time with your boss is work." Han quickly fires back, "I had fun, though?" His response makes it clear that his interest in her goes beyond a professional relationship.
Park Hyun-tae, a division head, takes a different approach. "I don't put effort into things that have no chance," he says, making his position plain. Where Han wears his feelings openly, Park Hyun-tae reads situations with a cool head.
The teaser also shows Han's jealous side. When Kang arrives wearing a flashy outfit that Park Hyun-tae gave her, Han says, "Your outfit's different," and looks a little hurt. Later, he teases her but can't hide how much he cares.
At the end of the clip, Han looks Kang in the eye. "I'll still be here tomorrow, and the day after," he says.
The question now is how Kang, who has only ever focused on work, will respond to a man who keeps coming toward her. "Nine to Six" premieres on Nov. 25 at 9 p.m. KST.
