Lee Jong-suk Shares Steamy Bath Scene Stills From 'The Remarried Empress'

Actor Lee Jong-suk has fans talking after sharing a new set of photos from his most recent series. On Nov. 6, he posted several pictures from the Disney+ drama "The Remarried Empress" to his Instagram.

The post came with a string of playful captions. One read "Hein-lee," a pun that mixes his character's name, Heinrey, with his own surname. Another called him "the Kim Doo-han of romance fantasy," a nod to a famous tough-guy figure in Korea.

The photos show Lee in a range of looks from the drama. In a bath scene, he shows off a muscular, V-shaped build.

Fans were quick to respond, adding heart emojis to their comments. "Disney Plus costs money. Is it OK to see this for free?" one wrote. Another added, "Pretty, cool, and he does it all himself."

The role almost went to someone else. On Nov. 3, Lee appeared on the web variety show "Salon Drip" and said he had turned down the part once.

"I felt a lot of pressure about the character's looks, so I even recommended another actor," he said. "But the director kept trying to convince me, and in the end I joined."

"The Remarried Empress" is based on a popular web novel of the same name. The romance fantasy follows Navier (played by Shin Min-a), the empress of the Eastern Empire. Her husband, Emperor Sovieshu (Ju Ji-hoon), falls for a runaway slave named Rashta (Lee Se-young) and tells Navier he wants a divorce. She then asks Heinrey (Lee Jong-suk), a prince of the Western Kingdom, to marry her.

Heinrey is known for looks so striking that people faint when they meet his eyes. He is famous for his stunning visuals in the original story, too. That reputation is exactly what made Lee hesitate. Now, it is the part fans can't stop talking about.
