SHINee's Minho Takes On a Triathlon on 'I Live Alone'
SHINee member Minho is heading back to the starting line. MBC's reality show "I Live Alone" will air his latest triathlon, following his apology over a controversy at a recent marathon.
The episode airs on Nov. 6 at 11:10 p.m. KST. It follows Minho as he competes in a triathlon in Tongyeong, South Korea, with the goal of beating his personal best.
Minho says this is his third time competing. He kept up his swimming, cycling and running training despite a busy schedule. The day before the race, he showed up at the site with a bike he named "Black Devil." He then finished registering and checked his gear.
Race day brought rain. Even in those weather conditions, participants came from all over the country. Before the start, Minho admits he is nervous but looking forward to it. "I'm excited," he says.
The race runs in three parts with a 1.5-kilometer swim, a 40-kilometer bike ride and a 10-kilometer run.
"My goal is to set a new personal record," Minho says. Then he shouts his own motto for the day, "No excuses! No whining!"
The triathlon comes after a rough stretch for the singer. At the 2026 JTBC Seoul Marathon on Nov. 1, a video spread online that appeared to show a pacemaker pushing Minho at the waist. The clip sparked criticism, with some accusing him of receiving unauthorized assistance.
Minho finished the full marathon in 3:00:18. That put him close to the "sub-3" mark, a finish in under three hours. However, critics pointed out that getting a push from another person could break race rules.
He apologized on social media on Nov. 3. "I'm sorry for disappointing so many people at the marathon I took part in on Nov. 1," Minho wrote. "Everything happened because I fell short."
He added that he would not accept the result himself. "I won't forget the lessons I learned through this process," he wrote.
That makes his triathlon run more than just another race. On "I Live Alone," viewers will see him take on a new course under his own rule, no excuses.
