TWS Embraces the Imperfections of Growing Up With "TO US"
TWS is exploring a different side of youth with its second single album, "TO US," moving beyond the excitement of new beginnings to confront the uncertainties and imperfections that come with growing up.
Released on Nov. 2, the project reflects a shift in the six-member group's musical storytelling, focusing on accepting personal struggles rather than trying to overcome them through perfection.
Across the album's tracks, TWS approaches these emotions from different perspectives. In "heavy," the members express the exhaustion that can accompany everyday pressures, while "WE UP" reflects on past mistakes with a greater sense of acceptance.
Title track "Call My Name" brings those ideas together, encouraging listeners to move forward despite their fears and uncertainties.
The accompanying music video translates that message into a series of physical challenges. Individual members are shown climbing the exterior of a tall building and balancing precariously on a pillar before all six eventually come together.
The themes also reflect the group's own progression since its debut.
Earlier releases such as "plot twist" and "If I'm S, Can You Be My N?" captured the nervous excitement of unfamiliar experiences, while subsequent projects explored the emotional changes associated with leaving adolescence behind.
The members have also gradually expanded their creative involvement.
Beginning with their fourth mini album, "play hard," TWS increasingly participated in writing lyrics that reflected their personal thoughts and experiences. During their first Asia tour, "2026 TWS TOUR '24/7:FOR'," the members also contributed to the production of unreleased unit songs, further developing their involvement in the group's music.
The release of "TO US" has been accompanied by early chart results in South Korea and Japan.
According to the agency, the album topped Hanteo Chart's daily physical album ranking on Nov. 2 and debuted at No. 2 on Oricon's Daily Singles Ranking in Japan.
Meanwhile, "Call My Name" reached No. 2 on Bugs' real-time chart and No. 14 on Melon's Top 100 on its release day.
The song's music video also ranked No. 7 on YouTube's daily trending music video chart in South Korea as of Nov. 3.
With "TO US," TWS continues to develop its youth-centered musical identity, shifting the focus from the excitement of discovering new experiences to learning how to accept the difficult moments that come with them.
