"XXL" announced that YOUNG POSSE had a distinct identity on arrival — a five-member girl group comfortable leaning into hip-hop textures at a moment when much of the K-pop landscape was pulling in other directions. Released in 2024, the track established the group's willingness to occupy a harder-edged sonic space early in their career.

Debut & Formation

YOUNG POSSE is a five-member girl group whose lineup comprises Doeun, Jiana, Jieun, Sunhye, and Yeonjung. Jiana serves as main vocalist and center, and is also credited as a sub-rapper — a combination of roles that points to the group's hybrid vocal-and-rap approach. The group came together with a stated stylistic identity rooted in K-pop but inflected with hip-hop sensibility, setting them apart from contemporaries who favored a more conventional pop presentation.

Music & Discography

The 2024 release "XXL" is the primary documented work in the group's discography, and it functions as a statement of intent: a title that signals scale and confidence, paired with a sound that the group was building its reputation around in its early period.

In April 2026, YOUNG POSSE returned with a new digital single, "we don't go to bed tonight", released on April 7 at 6 PM. The track marked a notable shift in approach — it is described as a digicore genre piece, representing the group's first venture into that sound since their debut. Digicore, which blends hyperpop, emo, and electronic production, carries a rawness and digital abrasiveness that is relatively uncommon in mainstream K-pop releases. The single's theme — burning through the night without sleep — is matched by a sense of urgency in its framing, and the group's decision to have all five members participate in writing the lyrics suggests a degree of creative investment in the material beyond a standard promotional release.

The move from "XXL" to "we don't go to bed tonight" hints at a group willing to expand its palette rather than settle into a fixed formula, even at a relatively early stage in their discography.
