aespa is proving the staying power of its second full-length album. The group's comeback push has been fueled in large part by South Korea's spring campus festival circuit, where its sharp concept and live performance have pulled in both core fans and general listeners.

According to K-POPiT BOARD, a K-POP analytics platform, aespa has held steady momentum since its comeback. As of June 4, the group ranked No. 1 on the platform's domestic Power Index (PWR_KR) with a score of 67. The index combines global music chart performance, social media activity, and news coverage into a single figure.

The timing lined up with university festival season, one of the most valuable live windows of the year in South Korea. Through May, aespa played a string of campus festival stages, mixing established hits with new material from the album. Strong live vocals and high-energy performances drove the in-person response, and clips of those stages spread quickly across social media and short-form video platforms. That reach pushed the new songs well beyond aespa's existing fan base.

Fancams and stage videos from the festivals racked up heavy view counts and widened the comeback's reach. K-POPiT BOARD's D-layer metric, which tracks interest from non-fans, rose 20 percent from the previous day. The jump suggests general listeners, not just MYs, are paying closer attention.

A pre-release track also helped build anticipation ahead of the album drop. News that G-Dragon would feature on the song became an immediate talking point across online communities and social platforms. A collaboration between aespa and an artist who defined an earlier era of K-POP drew in music fans across generations and rolled forward into curiosity about the full album. By release day, aespa had pulled in attention from its own fandom, G-Dragon's fans, and broader K-POP listeners.

The group's VCR figure, which measures how much online buzz converts into actual listening, came in at 100 percent. After the pre-release and the title track were out, online debate centered on which song felt more like aespa and which had stronger mainstream appeal. The back-and-forth among K-POP fans only widened the spotlight. The numbers backed it up. On Melon, South Korea's largest music streaming service, the new album's title track "Lemonade" sat at No. 5 on the main Top 100 chart as of the June 4 morning commute, with the pre-release "WDA" at No. 11.
