K-POP group MEOVV has broken through to mainstream listeners with "DDI RO RI," a song built around a sample from one of classical music's most recognizable melodies.

According to K-POPIT BOARD, the K-POP analytics index, MEOVV ranked No. 1 in both domestic and global buzz on June 8. The group posted a domestic Power Index (PWR_KR) score of 74.6, taking the top spot. The Power Index pulls together data from global music charts, social media activity, and news coverage. MEOVV also led the global ranking with a Power Index (PWR_GL) of 66.1.

The numbers climbed not because of fandom activity but because of a sharp rise in mentions among general listeners. The "D" segment, which tracks public buzz outside of core fans, jumped 1,036% in a single day.

The driver is "DDI RO RI," the title track of MEOVV's second EP, "BITE NOW," released on June 1. The song samples the famous organ line from Johann Sebastian Bach's "Toccata and Fugue in D Minor, BWV 565." In the chorus, the members shout "ddi ro ri" over the sampled melody, and listeners online have latched onto the moment as both catchy and funny. The polished, cinematic music video, which plays against the song's playful tone, has also become a talking point.

MEOVV has drawn attention for its sharp choreography and bold styling as well. The group has appeared on the major music shows, including SBS's "Inkigayo," KBS's "Music Bank," and MBC's "Show! Music Core," delivering high-energy performances with steady live vocals.

The official music video for "DDI RO RI" on YouTube has pulled in 13.74 million views in six days since release. As of 4 p.m. KST on June 8, the song sits at No. 32 on Melon's HOT 100 chart.
