'All of Us Are Dead' Actress Oh Hye-soo Announces Marriage and Motherhood
South Korean actress Oh Hye-soo has announced that she got married and became a mother during her time away from the screen. The All of Us Are Dead star shared the news directly with fans through a personal letter posted to her social media on Saturday.
"It's been a really long time since I've said hello," Oh wrote in the message, dated June 21. "Over the past few years, there have been so many changes in my life." She went on to share that she had met "a life partner" and started a new family, adding that she had also met "precious beings who have completely changed my world." The phrasing made clear that she had become a parent, though she did not share further personal details.
Oh said the changes had reshaped her daily life in ways she had not expected. "My everyday life began to fill with colors completely different from before," she wrote. "Through that process, I learned and grew a lot, and I was able to look back at myself not as an actress, but as one person." She explained that as time passed, she naturally stepped away from her career and from her online presence.
She also apologized for the long silence. "I'm sorry I couldn't share the news sooner," she wrote, thanking fans who had continued to check in on her and wait for her return. "I always remember the support and warm hearts you sent me, even from places I couldn't see."
The actress made clear she plans to return to acting. "I still love acting, and I want to keep greeting you as an actress through good projects and good work," she wrote. She added that she also hopes to share more of her life beyond her career through her social media going forward. "I'll come by more often from now on."
Oh debuted in 2017 through the web drama "Seventeen" (Yeolilgop). She drew wider attention through Netflix's "All of Us Are Dead," where she played Min Eun-ji, a school bullying victim who becomes an asymptomatic carrier during the outbreak. She followed that with a quietly powerful turn on ENA's "Extraordinary Attorney Woo," playing Shin Hye-young, a victim in one of the cases taken on by the title character. The role was brief but left a lasting impression on viewers.
