Jungkook's "Seven" Keeps Climbing, Reaches 3 Billion Spotify Streams

BTS member Jungkook has set a new milestone on Spotify. His solo debut single "Seven" has surpassed 3 billion streams on the platform, making him the first and only Asian artist to reach the milestone with a single track.

"Seven," which dropped in July of 2023 as part of his solo debut album "GOLDEN," quickly became a global sensation. The track's production, catchy hook and Jungkook's overlaying vocals made it an almost instant hit for many audiences. Furthermore, the track topped charts worldwide and stayed on the Billboard Hot 100 for 15 weeks.

This achievement marks Jungkook as the first and only Asian artist to surpass this goal joining the 3 billion club with other artists such as The Weeknd, Arctic Monkeys and Sabrina Carpenter. Online, the ARMY community has been celebrating this achievement on social media platforms such as X and Instagram. Fans have been posting fancams and throwback clips from the "Seven" era. Many have also pointed out that the song remains Jungkook's most-streamed track and continues to gain traction almost three years after its release showcasing its global power.

In an era where a song's longevity is rare, tracks typically peak early and then plateau after a few weeks or even days, depending on the release content for said time. "Seven's" longevity however keeps climbing week by week. Other "GOLDEN" tracks such as "Standing Here" and "Yes or No," have also performed well both online and amongst the general public, however "Seven" is and still remains the breakout hit that introduced the general listener to Jungkook's solo music.

This milestone solidifies Jungkook's position as one of K-POP's biggest solo forces. With Jungkook currently back on tour alongside BTS for the "ARIRANG" world tour and heading soon to Madrid, this opportunity has allowed the chance for many fans to engage with both the singer and the rest of the group.
