Seo In-guk and Park Ji-hyun's 'See You at Work Tomorrow!' Dips in Episode 2 Ratings
tvN's new Monday-Tuesday drama 'See You at Work Tomorrow!' slipped in its second episode, ceding the slot's lead to a rival on ENA. The series, starring Park Ji-hyun and Seo In-guk, drew an average household rating of 4.4 percent in the Seoul metropolitan area on its second outing, down from 4.8 percent for the premiere, according to Nielsen Korea.
The drop opened the door for ENA's 'Doctor on the Edge' led by Lee Jae-wook and Shin Ye-eun, which posted 4.8 percent in the same time slot and took the top spot among Monday-Tuesday dramas.
Episode 2 of 'See You at Work Tomorrow!' aired on the 23rd and averaged 4.4 percent nationwide, peaking at 5.8 percent. The episode leaned into the office comedy and workplace frustrations that have drawn early buzz, while pushing forward the slow shift between lead character Cha Ji-yoon, played by Park Ji-hyun, and her colleague Kang Si-woo, played by Seo In-guk.
The episode opened on a kiss between the two, only to reveal it as a dream Cha had after Kang's proposition the night before. When they ran into each other again at a convenience store, the moment turned awkward. Cha, wearing an apple-style updo and thick-rimmed glasses, mistook Kang's small smile for mockery and snapped, "Is that 'Sam no-man' laughing at me? I'm quitting!"
Kang spent the next stretch of the episode trying to corner Cha over lunch invitations and coffee runs, only for her to dodge him at every turn. A friend's offhand line, "That sounds like he's about to confess," only deepened her confusion. He finally got his chance with help from his fellow new hire Jeon Gi-tae, played by Kang Gi-doong.
The misread tension peaked when Kang told her, "I like senior Cha Ji-yoon. So senior Cha, I want to…" Cha braced for a confession. Instead, Kang asked her to join a task force aimed at improving the company's sphere ice refrigerator. She turned him down, saying she was afraid of failing.
On her way out that night, she spotted Kang alone in a conference room, bobbing to music as he worked through design sketches. The image started to shift how she saw him.
That same evening, her first love Jo Ga-eul, played by Choi Kyung-hoon, resurfaced after disappearing eight months earlier. He tried to pick things up where they left off, but Cha returned the belongings he had left behind and told him flatly, "We're over." When it started raining, she pulled his boxes back inside, a small gesture that hinted at lingering feelings.
Back at the office, another conflict was brewing. Senior manager Go, played by Hong Woo-jin, abruptly changed direction on an existing project and unloaded on his junior Yoon No-ah, played by Kang Mi-na. Cha stepped in, saying, "That's enough," and pushed back against Go by citing workplace harassment standards.
Kang circled back with another offer to join the task force. He had been pushed out of the product planning team after reporting Go's misconduct to the audit office, and Cha asked him why he was so focused on her. He told her he had been watching her since her first days at the company. "It was the first time," he said. "The first time I thought I didn't want to let someone go."
His honesty landed. Touched that someone saw her potential and accepted her as she was, Cha ended the episode by walking up to Kang instead of handing in her resignation letter. Over a voiceover that called the decision "a balance game, just picking the lesser of two bad options," she told him, "I'd like to join the task force."
