K-POP boy group RIIZE has teamed up with one of the most talked-about young photographers working today. She is 11 years old.

On October 29, Chinese photographer Zhu Shengyu shared a series of images of the RIIZE members on her Instagram account. In the photos, the members sit close together on a bed, looking into the camera with relaxed expressions. Their casual clothes, far from their usual stage looks, give the set a warm, familiar feel.

The shoot also includes individual portraits. Members pose in front of curtains, perch on chairs, or lean against sofas, striking a clean and quiet mood. Wonbin peeks through a doorway, catching the viewer's eye. Anton plays with the setup, holding a mysterious gourd drawn with rising smoke and staring at it, or crouching on the floor next to a chair for a playful shot.

The post took off fast. Within two days, it passed 27,600 reposts. The Instagram Reels version of the photo set reached 3.61 million views. Even a short clip of the members doing a simple challenge together drew 1.05 million views.

Zhu Shengyu was born in Shanghai in 2015. She first picked up a camera at age 4, following her father, who is also a photographer. She built her style around analog tools, working mainly with film cameras and Polaroids. Around age 6, in 2021, she began posting street snaps and photos shot from a child's point of view on the Chinese social platform Bilibili, and her name started to spread.

Her profile grew through work with major stars across Greater China and Hollywood. She has shot actors Tony Leung, Zhou Xun, and Chow Yun-fat, along with Jason Momoa and Daniel Wu. She has also built a steady body of work with K-POP artists. Last year he photographed KISS OF LIFE, Hearts2Hearts, STAYC, TOMORROW X TOGETHER's Soobin, and ZEROBASEONE's Zhang Hao. In May he worked with Red Velvet's Irene, and in June she shot ZEROBASEONE's Sung Han-bin.

What sets her photos apart is the natural feel she pulls from her subjects and the soft color of film. On set, Zhu takes the lead on framing and posing, while her father works alongside him as an assistant. Her official Instagram account, sheng.rain, now has more than 640,000 followers.

The collaboration says something about where K-POP visuals are heading. As groups look for a fresher, less polished look outside of standard concept shoots, a young photographer with a distinct point of view can shape a group's image as much as any veteran on the roster.
