"OK! MADAM: BON VOYAGE" Sets August Release With Cruise-Set Action Sequel
Korean action-comedy "OK! MADAM: BON VOYAGE" is heading to theaters this summer. The film's team confirmed an August 12 release and unveiled a launch poster and trailer.
Directed by Lee Chul-ha, the sequel brings back the original cast of Uhm Jung-hwa, Park Sung-woong, Lee Sang-yoon, and Bae Jung-nam. Joining them are new additions Park Jin-joo, Ryeoun, and Choi Soo-young. While the first film unfolded on a plane, the sequel moves the action to a cruise ship.
The story follows Mi-young, a former legendary agent, whose family boards a luxury cruise for what should be a relaxing vacation. Things fall apart when the ship is hijacked in the middle of the ocean, pulling Mi-young back into the kind of work she thought she had left behind.
The launch poster centers on Uhm Jung-hwa as Mi-young, flanked by Park Sung-woong as her husband Seok-hwan and Lee Sang-yoon as Cheol-seung, a former colleague from her agent days. Bae Jung-nam appears as Hyun-min, the groom at a cruise-set wedding. Park Jin-joo plays Sun-a, the head of the cruise line. Ryeoun takes on the role of Ji-hoon, a magician, and Choi Soo-young appears as Anya, the leader of a criminal organization.
The trailer opens with a callback to Mi-young's action scenes from the first film, then cuts to the title card "This time, it's a cruise" as a massive ship fills the frame. Fight sequences follow across the deck, mixing choreographed combat with the film's comedic tone.
One exchange sets the mood. Sun-a, the cruise line chief, asks, "Who kidnapped you here?" A tied-up Seok-hwan can only reply, "Kidnapped?"
The tension ramps up when Anya declares, "Shall we begin?" From there, the trailer moves through gunfights, explosions, and mid-air action above the cruise, promising a bigger scale than the first film.
"OK! MADAM: BON VOYAGE" opens in theaters nationwide on August 12.
