Hwang Jung-min, Jo In-sung, Jung Ho-yeon Featured in New "Hope" Posters
Director Na Hong-jin's new film "Hope" has revealed six new character posters ahead of its release. The posters feature the film's three leads, Hwang Jung-min, Jo In-sung and Jung Ho-yeon, alongside behind-the-scenes shots taken by cinematographer Hong Kyung-pyo.
The behind-the-scenes posters show Hwang Jung-min as branch office chief Beom-seok and Jung Ho-yeon as patrol officer Seong-ae, both locked into a scene on set. Another image places Jo In-sung as Seong-gi leaning against a truck in a dense forest, surrounded by a group of young men from the village. The behind-the-scenes set leans into a loose, distinctive visual style, using bold black-and-white photography and title designs that shift from character to character.
The standard character posters focus on the three figures who stand between their village and something they cannot explain. Beom-seok tries to protect the town. Seong-ae raises her gun. Seong-gi heads into the mountains to hunt the creature. Together, the images hint at the tension driving the story.
"Hope" follows Beom-seok, the head of a small branch office at Hopo Port inside the Demilitarized Zone, who hears from local youths that a tiger has appeared in the area. What starts as an unbelievable rumor pulls him into events he cannot easily explain.
