RESCENE to Remake KARA's 'Pretty Girl' as New Single

K-POP girl group RESCENE is going back to the late-2000s for its next release. The five-member group will drop a new single titled "Pretty Girl" on July 8 at 6 p.m. KST across major streaming platforms.

The track is a remake of the title song from KARA's second mini-album, first released in 2008. RESCENE, made up of members Wonhee, Liv, Minami, May, and Zena, keeps the teen-pop feel of the original while pulling the arrangement in a brighter, breezier direction.

The group has built its identity around a signature theme: every release comes tied to a specific scent. For "Pretty Girl," that scent is grapefruit, matching the crisp mood of the new version.

Production choices lean into texture over reinvention. The melody stays close to the original, but the sound design has been reworked. Distortion effects give the guitar more edge, while added synth layers open up the track and give it more depth.

RESCENE will kick off its promotional run on Mnet's "M Countdown" on July 9, followed by a full schedule of music show appearances.
