Cha Woo-min Injured Filming Action Scene for 'Study Group' Season 2

Actor Cha Woo-min was treated in an emergency room after suffering injuries while filming action scenes for "Study Group" Season 2. He has since returned to set.

According to reporting on the 8th, Cha hurt his ribs and hand while shooting a high-intensity action sequence for the TVING original series "Study Group" Season 2. He was rushed to an emergency room and received treatment for the injuries. Cha has since recovered and rejoined the production, an industry source said.

The incident happened during one of the show's marquee action scenes, according to a source close to the production. Cha was working through a long stretch of fight choreography when he was hurt, and fellow cast members and crew on set were reportedly shaken by the accident.

"Study Group" is a comedic high school action series about Yoon Ga-min, played by Hwang Min-hyun, a student who wants to excel academically but whose only talent is fighting. He forms a study group at one of the country's most notorious problem schools. Season 1, released last year, drew strong buzz and became a hit, leading to a Season 2 order. In the first season, Cha earned a top billing behind Hwang Min-hyun and Han Ji-eun, anchoring one side of the story with a sharp screen presence.

Born in 2000, Cha made his debut in 2021 through the BL web drama "Florida Restaurant" (Florida Banjeom). A graduate of the acting department at Seoul Institute of the Arts, he has steadily built his filmography with roles in "Weak Hero Class 1," "It's Nighttime" (Bami Doeeotseumnida), and "Bogado Island" (Bomulseom). With a distinctive look and steady performances, he has been widening his footing as a rising actor.

More projects are on the way. Cha will next appear in the new tvN Monday-Tuesday drama "My Favorite Employee" (Choeaeui Sawon), which premieres on the 3rd of next month. He plays Lee Chan, the favorite idol of a character played by Kim Hye-jun, taking on his most substantial supporting male lead role in a straight drama since his debut. He is also set to appear in "Solo Leveling" (Na Honjaman Level-Up), led by Byeon Woo-seok. After an unexpected injury on the action set and a full recovery, attention is turning to what Cha will bring to "Study Group" Season 2 and the projects that follow.
